Ella Sylvester, a former Everett High School star now playing for the Smith Pioneers, is gearing up for the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.
The team faces off against the Union Garnet Chargers to open the tournament.
Their first game tips off at 4:45 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Alumni Gymnasium.
In 2024, Everett Community College in Washington allocated $69,085 to its men’s basketball teams, which is $1,159,961 below the state average of $1,229,046, according to data from the U.S. Department of Education.
Women’s basketball teams from Snohomish County received $120,972 during the 2024 season, up 3.2% from the previous year.
Men’s basketball teams from Snohomish County received $169,074 during the 2024 season, up 5.8% from the previous year.
