Snohomish County’s Light Rail Communities project will be hosting a virtual workshop in an effort to solicit input from the public regarding housing plans for the areas near planned light rail stations in unincorporated Snohomish County, according to a release from the county.
The workshop is part of an ongoing effort to engage the public and will examine the topics of growth and housing and will seek input from the public on where different types of housing should be located.
This workshop is part of the second phase of the multi-year Light Rail Communities project, which is focused on gathering information to inform decisions for a subarea plan, according to the press release.
The first phase of the project was focused on gathering input from the public regarding locations for planned light rail stations. The process took two years and resulted in the county council passing a resolution with wide support from the public.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to leverage major transportation investments to benefit Snohomish County,” Dave Somers, Snohomish County executive, said in the press release. “We need to hear from the public about their priorities to guide the county’s plan for light rail in our community.”
The workshop will be available to visitors through Sept. 25 here.
