EVERETT, Wash. – Everett Community College is hosting an online panel discussion about voter misinformation and suppression in the United States, including one of the nation’s leading election security expert.
The panel is 6-7:30 p.m. on Oct 22. To attend, visit EverettCC.edu/TrojansVote and click on registration. The event is open to EvCC students, faculty, staff and the public.
Speakers will discuss how mail-in voting is secure in Washington state, debunk voting misinformation and discuss past and present methods used in voter suppression.
Panelist include: Maggie MacAlpine, election security expert, DEF CON Voting Village co-organizer and featured in HBO’s “Kill Chain”; Dennis Skarr, EvCC Computer Information Systems instructor and former Washington State National Guard member, Janice Greene, president of NAACP Snohomish County; and Garth Fell, Snohomish County Auditor.
The panel moderator is Ciera Graham, Director of EvCC’s East County Campus. The panel is hosted by EvCC’s Business and Applied Technology Division.
