Snohomish County started an initiative designed to help job-seekers and companies to retain local talent and maintain long-term partnerships, County Executive Dave Somers said.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically impacted our business community and caused a significant increase in unemployment. This new tool, SnoCoWork, will be one of the ways to set us down a path toward economic and employment recovery," Somers said in a county release.

The project will come in the form of an employment portal, named SnoCoWork, which will exclusively feature and post positions based in Snohomish County or can be performed from Snohomish County.

"We know Snohomish County will be well-positioned to recover quickly after the pandemic because of partnerships," Somers said in the release. "We appreciate the leadership of Mayor Tolbert and businesses across the county, finding innovative solutions to our economic challenges."

The portal will allow job seekers to create a profile, upload resumes complete applications, and search for open positions. The portal is expected to have hundreds of available positions by the launch date.
