Granite Falls School District issued the following announcement on Feb. 17.
The three candidates who have applied to fill the vacant District 1 Board of Director Seat include the following:
Kylee Walker - Kylee and her husband are parents to three children who attend school in Granite Falls. Kylee's letter of application included the desire to advocate for those who work within the system and for families whose children attend GFSD schools. She also states she brings a background in finance from running and owning a car dealership business with her husband. Highly involved in the community, she wants all students to succeed. She believes fiscal accountability and transparency will help the district build trust with the community.
Dave Green - Dave and his wife, Cheri, have three children who have all graduated from Granite Falls. Dave works at Boeing. He had previously served as the District 1 Board of Directors and would like to continue his advocacy for Career and Technical Education, and bring his problem-solving skills to the Board. He believes there is a need for greater computer programming in all schools, to assist in making our schools/district become more energy efficient, and be involved with a facilities master plan as our community grows.
Peter LeDoux - Peter and his wife, Erica, have two children who attend school in Granite Falls. Peter is a UW graduate and now works in the tech industry as a Sr. Account Executive. He speaks highly of the public education he received and has long advocated for the power of a strong educational foundation for all. Peter's commitment is to attack the issues our schools face with a promise to be vocal, fair, and equitable. He promises to bring transparency to our schools and make sure our schools represent our community.
