City of Marysville issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.
Looking ahead to summer fun, the City of Marysville will close Comeford Park starting Friday, Feb. 18, for substantial upgrades. We aim to complete the work and reopen the park by mid-June.
At its meeting on Feb. 14, the City Council approved a contract award of $1.66 million to Moon Construction Company to complete this project.
Work includes construction of new restrooms, event seating near the new public plaza between the park and the new Civic Center under construction, and new concrete walkways, improved lighting and landscaping. The spray park will remain along with existing swings and playground equipment.
The Rotary Pavilion will be relocated to another city park. Renovations to the water tower are wrapping up and its new look will be unveiled in the next few days.
