City of Mukilteo issued the following announcement on Mar. 1.
PROCLAMATION IN SUPPORT OF UKRAINE March 1, 2022 WHEREAS, on February 23rd , Russian President Vladimir Putin sent troops to invade the sovereign nation of Ukraine; and WHEREAS, it has been a week since this invasion, and the death toll is over 350 for civilians and climbing, including 14 children; and WHEREAS, Mukilteo is home to many Ukrainian families, who have family in Ukraine fearing for their lives; and WHEREAS, Mayor Marine has reached out to local leaders of Ukrainian churches in Mukilteo to ask how we can support their community during this time; and WHEREAS, everyone in Mukilteo should find ways to show support to our Ukrainian friends and neighbors in Mukilteo, and those in Ukraine. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City of Mukilteo stands in solidarity with our Ukrainian neighbors. The City sends thoughts and prayers for peace in Ukraine and is standing by to offer support in any way that we can.
