Marysville School District Replacement Levy Measures Fall Short

School10

Marysville School District

APRIL 27, 2022

Thank you to those who supported the replacement levy measures on the April 26 special election ballot. Unfortunately, both the Educational Programs and Operations Levy and the Technology and Capital Projects Levy fell short of receiving the 50% +1 yes votes required to pass the measures. Moving forward, the Board of Directors will work with district leaders to make the necessary budget reductions due to the loss of revenue.

Replacement levy measures fund the gaps in funding where the state falls short and make up 14%-18% of our overall budget. These levies provide funding for athletics, class size, safety and security, early learning, counselors, nurses, teachers, support staff, technology devices, software and training, student transportation, and more. While the impact of these reductions will be felt across the district, the Board of Directors and the District are committed to minimizing the impact of the reductions on student learning.

Please look for more information on the reductions in the coming weeks.
