Slurry sealing is one of many effective tools in the City’s preventative maintenance program and is typically applied to residential streets that are in fair to good condition. This summer, we’ll be extending the life of neighborhood streets by applying a slurry seal to approximately 5 centerline miles of residential streets in the Harbour Heights, Harbour Pointe, and Big Gulch neighborhoods. Slurry seal application can extend a street’s good conditions for 5 to 10 years. Many municipalities locally and nationally use this cost-effective strategy to preserve their neighborhood streets, including the Cities of Kirkland and Burien.
